Slept in today as we are only hiking up Lava to the head waters. Left camp around 9:30 and slowly made our way up to the head waters at 12:10. Lots of birds, frogs, lizards and deer prints along the way. Soil in creek turns a pretty green as you approach the head waters. Found some shade to hang out in for the afternoon. Hiked 10 minutes above the headwaters and found the cairn marking the path to the Juno ruins. Spent time exploring the ruins and then went back to our shady spot. Found a small, flat place to set up camp. There was a large frog living in the rocks of the head waters and he serenaded us most of the afternoon.
