Woke up at 6:15 to 43 degrees. Made coffee and had breakfast and was ready to roll by 7:45. The trail is long as it winds along the redwall and then drops through several layers depositing you at the Little Nankoweap stream.
We arrived at 12:55 and took advantage of a huge tree to have some lunch and relax for a bit. The flies were relentless so we did not stay as long as we would have like. The plan was to hike upstream as far as we could so we would be in a good position to make it to Kolb Arch tomorrow. We left at 2:00 and hiked until 4 when we found a nice flat, clear spot to set up camp. We had dinner and relaxed until the sun went down around 6:30.
